AN EMPATHETIC APPROACH TO EDITING

I’m not here to call you out on typos.

But I am here to gently remind you that it’s time to get back to the roots of why you love writing in the first place.

You want more than just a proofreader.

You want a confidant.

Someone to whip you and your words into shape and bring you to the next level, and someone to sit with by the fire as you dig into the deep, emotional, messy, authentic things that make your story *your* story.

It's in that duality that Wide Sky lives. In the saddling up and the settling in. In the whiskey and the wine. In the daylight and the firelight.

It’s here that stories take root and grow into legends.

I’ve always been a words gal

But more than that, I’m a sit-with-you-when-it-gets-real gal. A get-passionate-about-what-you’re-passionate-about gal.

And ultimately? I get it. As an editor who is also a writer, I know that sometimes passion is hard to capture without bending the rules a little.

Because at the end of the day, if something doesn't sound true to you, nothing else matters. So even though I definitely know where the commas go, what I also know in the depths of my soul is that true storytelling happens at the intersection of intuition and precision — and that’s where I live.

fun facts / LEARN ABOUT ME / little quirks /

  • I made my first edit at the age of three

Unbeknownst to my parents, I crossed out two of the three names they had written down as options for what to name my little sister. Voice and personal identity have clearly been lifelong passions for me.

  • I'm a Midwest girl at heart

But I’ve lived in Tacoma, WA for the past six years. Catch me enjoying the great outdoors (drinking a wild ale on the patio of a local brewery).

  • I'm on a big Greek mythology kick

I read Circe at the end of 2021 and it’s taking all of my self control not to exclusively read Greek mythology-related titles. I can’t get enough.
